Adventure on the Scottish North West Coast ~ Ullapool and beyond!

‘What’s the problem,’ our neighbour asked, looking at my distraught face.

‘We can’t fit all our stuff in the car,’ I replied.

‘Ne bother,’….nothing is too much bother to the Scottish folks we met and soon it was sorted and we were so thankful for the offer from two of our new friends to look after some of it until our next visit… and we were off, piled high with belongings of over nine months living in Scotland. We were not heading directly home from Kinghorn though, but north. Next stop Ullapool!

Loch Broom, Ullapool

Here we were blessed with a fantastic sunset on our first night a promise for the day ahead as we were welcomed settled comfortably by our new hosts at Broom View B & B.

The following day we drove across the narrow, single track mountain roads of the highlands to Achiltibuie with unforgettable views over the Summer Isles where we enjoyed a stroll and picnic ~ the beauty of the area seeping to the depth of our being…DSCN0975

On leaving Broom View B & B we took a last drive in the highlands to Lochinver where we enjoyed lunch at Lochinver Larder, one of the best menus in the area we had come across, and we bought some of their renowned pasties for our supper on the ferry to Lewis, that evening. Whilst travelling, any confusion about the past or uncertainties about the future evaporated as we enjoyed   ‘Living the moment.’DSCN0982
